The Reviewery works because reviews are honest and the room is good company. Great beer. Great places. Great people. Keep it that way:
Review the brewery, honestly
- Write about what you actually experienced. One review per brewery — edit it as your opinion evolves.
- Score fairly: Beer, Staff Knowledge, Vibe. A bad visit deserves a bad score; a grudge doesn't.
- No incentivized, traded or paid reviews. No reviewing your own brewery, or one you work for. No review-bombing.
Log the beer, honestly
- Pours are your private log — score the glass in front of you, not the brewery's reputation.
- Your notes are yours, but the same rules apply: no slurs, no harassment, no personal attacks. Notes that break these rules can be flagged like anything else.
Photos
- Photos should show the brewery, the bar, the board or the beer.
- Every photo — brewery, review, pour or profile picture — is screened automatically before anyone else sees it.
- No nudity, gore, memes, screenshots, ads, or people as the subject without their OK.
Respect the room
- No hate speech, harassment, threats or personal attacks — toward members, staff or breweries.
- No spam, self-promotion or off-topic content.
- Brewery staff are people. Critique the pour, not the person's worth.
Play it straight
- Don't add fake breweries or vandalize brewery information.
- Don't manipulate scores, taps or helpful votes.
- One person, one account.
If you run a brewery
- Keep your hours, contact details and tap board true. Don't list beers that aren't pouring.
- Don't review or rate your own brewery, and don't ask staff, friends or customers to review it in exchange for anything.
- You can't delete or edit a member's review. If one breaks these guidelines, report it — a person will look.
How moderation works
- Posts are checked two ways: a short fixed word list refuses an explicit slur at posting, and an AI service (Anthropic) flags photos and text that may break these guidelines. A person makes every decision — nothing is removed by a machine.
- You can report any review, photo or profile and block any member from inside the app. Reports are reviewed by a human; content that breaks these guidelines is removed, and repeat or serious offenders lose their accounts.
- Appeals. If your content was removed or your account restricted and you think that was wrong, email [email protected] with what happened. A person re-reads the original decision and replies, usually within 7 days.
Drink responsibly. Never drink and drive.
